Image shows the new Herreshoff New York 50-Foot Class sloops built for the 1913 season racing off Larchmont, New York. Visible in image on the left, port quarter views, are BARBARA, #NY8 (with the private signal of H.P. Whitney - blue swallowtail with white outline), possibly SAMURI, #NY2, possibly VENTURA, NY7 (hard to read stern), and behind VENTURA is SPARTAN, #NY6. To the right of the negative are grouped GRAYLING, #NY4, IROQUOIS II, #NY3, and PLEIONE #NY9. Some land is visible in very distant background.
