Image of 70' Alan Payne designed, Lars Halvarsen and Sons built 12 meter class sloop GRETEL (built 1962 in Sydney, Australia) and spectator fleet at 1962 America's Cup race. Image is a cropped starboard quarter view of GRETEL (12/KA 1) running before the end surfing past the spectator fleet under mainsail and spinnaker. Stamped on original negative sleeve: "173296 / (JUL -crossed out) 18 1962 / AMERICA'S CUP RACE / 1962". Handwritten: "Tues. 9/18". Manufacturer's stamp: "Agfa 35 mm Film".
