8x10 gelatin silver print made by Rosenfeld and Sons in April or May of 1921. Closeup image of members of the Gar Wood family on board one of Gar Wood's cruisers. From left to right: Esther Wood, Mrs. Gar (Murlen) Wood, Garfield Wood, George Wood and Logan Wood. Murlen Wood, who is seated, is holding the two teddy bear mascots Teddy and Bruin which raced on any vessels driven by Gar Wood and even made outfits to suit the occasion. Original 5x7 negative destroyed by Rosenfelds before being acquired by Mystic Seaport. Handwritten info. from print verso: "Gar Wood / MB" and other misc. notations. Stamped in blue ink: "1921". Stamped upper right corner in purple ink: "MOTOR BOATING / Ed. Dept. / No. (2776) / Size__ / Sent: (6-3-21) / Wanted: (6-4-21)" and also stamped in black ink: "MAY 28 1921".
