Image of Gar Wood and his mechanic Orlin Johnson standing in the cockpit of the unlimited hydroplane, MISS AMERICA VIII, racing hull #U-16, which is dockside. A large group of people are on the dock to the left and a radio announcer has a microphone in front of Gar Wood for a short interview.
