2 1/2 x 3 1/2 in. safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons during the time of the Newport to Bermuda Race in 1958. Long shot of several of the Class C sailing vessels racing, all starboard beam or starboard quarter views. In the center is sail #NA9, a Naval Academy participant, is FLIRT (DS: Luders; BU: Southwest, 1943), heeled over with a striped sail and to FLIRT'S right is sail #414, SITZMARK IV (DS: Mason; BU: Hoernke, 1957). Typed caption paper in with negative states: "159762F / The U.S. Naval Academy ywml[sic] Flirt rolls wildly to windward". There are also 2 copies of the negative sleeves. Negative sleeve information as follows: (stamped) "159762F / NEWPORT-BERMUDA 1958 / [Box] 5650" and (handwritten), NA9 is A / Start Class C / Flirt / Boat heeling / NA9".
