8x10 safety composite copy negative considered to be an original source for the image VALKYRIE, 1946, made by Rosenfeld and Sons ca. 1957 and used in the book, CENTURY UNDER SAIL. p.148. VALKYRIE was a 38'9" Bounty Class aux. sloop designed by Rhodes and built by Coleman in 1940. Image of vessel undersail on a brisk, windy day, starboard quarter view, heeled way over on a port tack with rails awash and deck visible, clouds in the background as well as shoreline. Neg. #66892 is made from a print which is a composite of #116725F (vessel) and #112599F (clouds). Stamped neg. sleeve info.: "66892 / 3046-19".
