The vessel is the 24' Roger McAleer designed Raven Class centerboard sloop VINKY, believed to have been built by Cape Cod Shipbuilding Company of Wareham, Massachusetts. Image of VINKY, sail #31, just after capsizing with the four crew in the water holding on to the hull. Stamped on the original negative sleeve: "127159F / JUL 18 1950 / LARCHMONT RACE-WEEK / 1950 / [Box] 5118" and handwritten: "Sinking Boat / Raven / 1-8x10 Book".
