8 x 10 gelatin silver print made from an 8 x 10 glass plate negative taken by James Burton, circa 1903. Printed by Rosenfeld and Sons with a matte finish, date unknown. View of Cornelius Vanderbilt III, standing posed on the deck of his yacht (probably his new yacht NORTH STAR, which was bought in 1903). Seen here holding a telescope and standing on the carpeted deck of his yacht, in a captain's uniform. Mr. Vanderbilt is wearing white shoes with a slight heel. Stamped on back in rectangular box: "MORRIS ROSENFELD / PHOTOGRAPHIC ILLUSTRATOR / 116 NASSAU STREET, N.Y. / Phone BEekman 3-4970". Handwritten on back: "Gen. Vanderbilt". Embossed in lower right corner: "M. ROSENFELD, N.Y.".
