Nevins Yard. YMS 6 was a 136' wood-hulled minesweeper built by Henry B. Nevins, Inc. of City Island, New York and launched May 19, 1942. The keel was laid on August 8, 1941 and she was commissioned on June 18, 1942. After World War II, YMS 6 was stricken from the naval records June 19, 1946. She held a crew compliment of 32 men.
