The American flag flying from the cutter in the foreground, port bow view, makes her RESOLUTE, with a gaff-rigged main and topsail, staysail, jib and flying jib raised. The cutter aft and to the right is SHAMROCK IV with her gaff-rigged main, topsail and flying jib raised, crew acting as ballast, port bow view. To the far right in the background is a lightship.
