4X5 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and sons off Bayonne, New Jersey, May 3, 1943. Image is of PT 196 underway from a medium port beam range view. Here can be seen one of the experimental dazzel camouflage patterns painted on the sides of the boat plus what appears to be an auxillary stern attatchment likely to be an extra fule tank. This was one of Elco's 80 foot designs and the last of the PT 103 platforms. Stamped: neg. sleeve: "106453F MAY 3 1943 / ELECTRIC BOAT COMPANY / ELCO NAVAL DIVSION / BAYONNE, N.J. / CONFIDENTIAL / [Box] 4768 to 4770".CREDIT LINE: Mystic Seaport, Rosenfeld Collection.
