Morris was a first generation imigrant whose parents came to the U.S.A. in 1887. Morrises original goal was to be a doctor and he worked part time as a photographer to this end and in the early years was a news photographer. Morris worked with Edwin Levick around 1905 and became interested in photography as a career. Morris was also the manager of a portrait studio (1903), a freelance, and finally opened his own studio around 1910. This image was taken when Morris was approximately 76 years old.
