7x5 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons most likely at the start of the 1934 New York Yacht Club Cruise which began off New London, Connecticut on August 10th and finished with the final race of the King's Cup on August 17th. Image is a starboard bow view of ENDEAVOUR, #J/K4, running before the wind under marconi-rigged mainsail, staysail, and jib, the "Annie Oakley" spinnaker with six vents is being set as crew stands ready. ENDEAVOUR was a British 130' Charles E. Nicholson design J Class cutter built by Camper & Nicholson Yard in Gosport, England in 1934.
