Image is a view taken on deck of the British challenger, ENDEAVOUR, of its crew, its officers and owners, Mr. and Mrs. Sopwith (standing in the back to the left of the mast). All members are dressed in light jump suits with the British flag sewn on the upper left breast. A partial view of a small overturned life boat can be seen in the foreground on the deck on the right. In the water to the left is a rowboat with 3 men in it. In the background on the left and the right are anchored two three-masted ships. Stamped neg. sleeve info.: "69545F / SEP 15 1934 / [Box] 4116." Handwritten: "Crew of Endeavour / NYYC" and a notation lower right of possible print sent to "T" (NEW YORK TIMES?).
