5 x 7 Kodak safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons in 1934 probably during the America's Cup pre-trials. View of the J Class cutters, WEETAMOE, #J1, and VANITIE, #I3, crossing tacks. WEETAMOE was a Sparkman & Stephens design built by the Herreshoff Manufacturing Co., in Bristol, Rhode Island 1930. VANITIE was unsuccessful in her attempts to qualify for the America's Cup 1914 and 1920 and was used as a trial horse in 1930 against other J Class vessels. She was a Burgess & Morgan design and was built by the George Lawley & Son Corporation of South Boston, Massachusetts in 1914. Typed on original negative sleeve: "67765-F".
