35mm film frame photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons of a painting in 1974. Image of George Steers, designer of the famous schooner AMERICA, the winner of the One Hundred Guinea Cup in England in 1851 which was later known all over the world as the America's Cup. Mr. Steers died at the age of 36 and at the time of his death was a well-known designer of pilot boats and yachts. This image was copied at the New York Historical Society from a book titled, THE LAWSON HISTORY OF THE AMERICA'S, by Thompson and Lawson, copyright 1902.
