8x10 glass copy negative made from a broken original photographed by Charles Edwin Bolles ca. 1890. EMU is shown here at rest, port bow view, dressed, with many people on board. EMU was an 86' steam yacht schooner rigged, built by S. Pine of Green Point, New York from designs by Hines in 1881 and her name was EMU from 1881 to 1894.
