8x10 glass negative photographed by Charles Edwin Bolles ca. 1896. Image taken from the land looking at the New York Yacht Club Station Number 4 building made of brick on the edge of the water with a wooden dock from the back of the building out over the water. There is a man in a uniform standing in the window of the station. No. 4 was established in 1892 on Pequot Avenue near the Old Pequot House. Station was abandoned in 1918 due to pressures on the port with World War I traffic. Handwritten neg. sleeve info.: "Y984 / Stat 4 / N.Y.Y.C. / Box 101."
