Image of the New York Yacht Club Station Number 5 taken at Dering Harbor, Shelter Island, New York, from the water looking at the building built on pilings over the water with a ramp leading from the station to a floating dock. A sign on the station railing states: "THIS FLOAT / is for the use of the / members of the / N.Y. YACHT CLUB / and their guests." No. 5 was established in 1892 on Shelter Island at Dering Harbor, 75 feet from the Old Manhassett boat landing. The station was closed in 1913.
