8 x 10 glass plate negative photographed by Charles Edwin Bolles in 1892. Port beam view of the schooner rigged sidewheel steamer yacht, CLERMONT, designed by A. Van Santvoord and built by H. Lawrence in Greenpoint, NY. in 1892. She was also renamed CHARMARY in 1911 and used in commercial service after years as a yacht until about 1921. She was originally built at 160' and then lengthened in 1897 to 175'. Handwritten neg. sleeve info.: "Clermont / Y1071". Handwritten on emulsion side margin edge: "Clermont / Copyright 92 / Clermont / 59". Photographer's notation (most likely the Rosenfeld's) on back of neg. sleeve: "Correspondence previous 1913 / stored above stock shelves near back".
