6x8 glass plate photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons during the Annual Bayside-Block Island Auxiliary Handicap Race of August 8, 1911. Image of BAGGARAH, Handicap Class logo and sail #%18, undersail, starboard beam view. BAGGARAH was a 33'5" sloop built by Rice Brothers of East Boothbay, Maine from designs of B.B. Crowninshield in 1902. Later names were: PETER PAN, NATOMA, ANNA C, and GAEL. A class design built in 1901-1902 designed by Crowninshield and built by Rice Brothers that was designed to fit the "Race-About" class rule , a development of the Knockabout class with the dimensions of: 33' x 21' x 7'6" x 5'6". Eight sloops were built for members of the American Yacht Club and were the club's first gaff-rigged sail boats. Handwritten neg. sleeve info.: "Block Is.
