4x5 nitrate negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons, 1940. View from port beam of BOREALIS reaching on starboard tack during 1940 Miami-Nassau race. During the race BOREALIS was dismasted and did not finish the race. Another participant (JAVA HEAD) stood by for an hour to assist while BOREALIS cleared gear and started engine. JAVA HEAD's assistance cost her possible second place finish and resulted in eighth place finish. Handwritten neg. sleeve info.: "BOREALIS, #12." Stamped info.: "Miami Nassau 1940, [Box] 4585."
