4x5 nitrate negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons August 17, 1940 of the 37th running of the Gold Cup which was held by the Indian Harbor Yacht Club, off Bluff Point, Northport, Long Island, New York. The event was sponsored by the Gold Cup Committee, Indian Harbor Yacht Club of Greenwich, Connecticut and the American Power Boat Association. Image of MY SIN, #G13, on the left, following NOTRE DAME, #G-5 in the lead to the right with both vessels showing a starboard beam view. MY SIN, later renamed as TEMPO VI, was a 30' hydroplane assembled by Zalmond G. Simmons from a Ventnor Boat Company hull and a Miller 16-cylinder engine built from designs by Arno A. Apel in 1938. NOTRE DAME, #G-5, was the 4th of several NOTRE DAME's. Power in 1940 was a 24 cylinder Dusenberg W-24 engine (same engine as was in NOTRE DAME 2nd). Stamped neg. sleeve info.: "98057F".
