Image is a view of Henry Sears seated in the cockpit at the wheel of COLUMBIA, underway, starboard side view aft on a port tack. View shows the after part of the deck with crewmen at various places and deck equipment. Henry Sears was commodore of the New York Yacht Club in 1956 and a syndicate manager of the Sears-Cunningham Syndicate for the America's Cup defense for COLUMBIA, #US16, in 1958. COLUMBIA was a 69'7" 12 Meter sloop built in 1958 by Henry B. Nevins, Inc. of City Island, New York from designs by Olin Stephens of Sparkman and Stephens.
