Pencil and wash drawing on paper, with Chinese white and color added; unsigned, probably by a western painter; starboard view of schooner WILD PIGEON, flies pennant, and house flag with the letters "MH" (reversed), small sloop in left middle distance; San Francisco’s Golden Gate in background, Fort Point at right; 116-ton WILD PIGEON launched Patchogue, Long Island, 1853; went out to San Francisco in late 1864 or early 1865 and was registered there through 1870; before going out her owner/operator was a Capt. Milikin, so perhaps the house flag is HM.
