5x4 Kodak safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons during the time of the New York Yacht Club Cruise of 1954. Starboard beam view of the schooner PLEIONE, sail #F1, undersail on a port tack. PLEIONE was a 72 ft. early New York Yacht Club 50 sloop and was designed by Nathanael G. Herreshoff and built by Herreshoff Manufacturing Company of Bristol, Rhode Island in 1913. She was converted to a schooner in 1926. Owner in 1954 was Joseph V. Santry. Stamped on original negative sleeve: "142509F / N.Y.Y.C. 1954 / [Box] 5374". Handwritten: "PLEIONE". CREDIT LINE: Mystic Seaport, Rosenfeld Collection.
