5 x 7 glass plate negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons at Camp Merritt, Bergen County, NJ, September 17, 1917. Close, center view of a junction box on a telephone pole. Construction began on Camp Merritt on August 20, 1917 after the onset of World War I. There was a temporary camp site in Demarest, NJ, while the site in Bergen County was being constructed. Handwritten on original negative sleeve "Camp Merritt". Taken as a part of the New York Telephone Company series.
