5 x 7 Kodak safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons on April 22, 1936. View of New York 32 footers under construction at Nevins Boat Yard, City Island, NY. Interior view of three hulls being constructed. According to "RUDDER", March and May 1936, Vol.52/5: Nevins Yard built a fleet of 20 NYYC 32 footers in 1936. They cost approximately $11,500 each, were designed by Olin Stephens, and measured 45'4" in length. They carried 950 square feet of sail, by Ratsey, and where mahogany planked with an oak frame. All 20 were delivered for June 1, 1936. Typed on original negative sleeeve: "4/22/36 / NYYC 32' being turned over at Nevins / [Box] 4242". CREDIT LINE: Mystic Seaport, Rosenfeld Collection.
