8 x 10 gelatin silver print taken by James Burton as a glass plate negative circa 1906, and printed by Rosenfeld and Sons, date unknown. Interior view of the dining room aboard the steam yacht NORTH STAR. NORTH STAR was designed by W. C. Storey, and built by Naval Construction & Arm., Ltd. 1893. She was built as VENETIA, and later renamed, SYBARITE, and CHEROKEE. She was owned by Cornelius Vanderbilt from 1903-1914 under the name NORTH STAR. James Burton sold his collection to Morris Rosenfeld in 1910, dating this image between 1903 and 1909. Stamped on back in purple: "MORRIS ROSENFELD & SONS / PHOTOGRAPHIC ILLUSTRATORS / 163 WEST 23rd St., N.Y., N.Y. 10011 / PHONE: (212) 989-2404". Original negative number B.1984.187.558. Handwritten on back in black pen: "NORTH STAR - C. VANDERBILT".
