5x7 Kodak safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons in July of 1930. Port quarter view of the M Class cutter ISTALENA undersail, heeled over on a starboard tack showing a full view of the deck and crew on a windy day. ISTALENA was an 87' racing sloop owned by George M. Pynchon until 1933. She was a Herreshoff design and was built by Herreshoff Manufacturing Company of Bristol, Rhode Island in 1929.
