5 x 7 Defender copy safety negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on January 10, 1944. View of the Landing Class Tank boat 406 (LCT 406). Seen pulled to shore with hatch open, and soldiers (Army) posed aboard vessel. Typed on original negative sleeve: "1/10/44 / Copy of photo of LCI [crossed out] LCT boat". Stamped on sleeve: "107513F / 1787". LCT boats were an all purpose general duty vessel. As well as carrying tanks ashore, some were converted and equiped with guns or rockets, while others served as minesweepers.
