4 x 5 copy negative made from an 8 x 10 gelatin silver print, printed from a 5 x 7 glass plate negative. Image taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on June 21, 1924. View of six crew members aboard the ketch MICCO, seen relaxing on deck before the start of the Newport to Bermuda Race. Men seen at the starboard aft section of the boat, casually talking and displaying various modes of yachting fashions of the 1920's. MICCO is seen tied against another vessel (in foreground), and part of a canopy shows at the top edge, across the entire negative (cropped partially in printing), part of a wheel showing in the lower right corner of the negative (not seen in printing). Bundles of flags or burgees are seen on a cushion on the vessel MICCO is tied to, in the lower left corner of the image. For more information see: A CENTURY UNDER SAIL, text by Stanley Z. Rosenfeld, page 54. MICCO was built in 1891 and measured 40 feet 6 inches at waterline, and had draft of 4 feet. She was built by A.C. Brown in Staten Island, and was an Ralph M. Monroe design.
