5 x 7 Kodak safety negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on the Thames River, New London, CT, 1931. Vessel probably seen entering harbor as a spectator for the Harvard-Yale Boat Race. Starboard view of the steam yacht NOURMAHAL. Vessel has 2 diesel engines and an auxiliary schooner rig. She was designed by Theodore E. Ferris (Cox & Stevens, Inc), and built by F. Krupp, Germania Werft, Keil, Germany, 1928. She measured 163 feet 10 inches in length overall, and was owned by Vincent Astor, of New York, in 1930. Stamped on original negative sleeve: "46121F / NEW LONDON - 1931". Handwritten on negative sleeve: "Nourmahal / Box 3197".
