8 x 10 gelatin silver print, made from a 4 x 5 Kodak safety negative. Taken by Rosenfeld and Sons during Larchmont Race Week, 1949. View of Black seine net fishermen on Long Island Sound. Men seen actively purse seine fishing, most likely Menhaden, from seine boats and striker boat. Crew were commonly hired from Virginia and Maryland areas to come fish the long Menhaden season, spanning the spring, summer, and fall seasons on Long Island Sound. This image was captured by the Rosenfeld's while they were photographing mainly yachts, during the Larchmont Race Week.
