8 x 10 gelatin silver print, made from a 4 x 5 Kodak safety negative, taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on March 21, 1953. View of the SS UNITED STATES, seen underway, passing across the New York City skyline. Printed version slightly cropped from original negative. The SS UNITED STATES broke all speed record for a transatlantic crossing in July 1952. She was launched that same year by Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock, Co., and was designed by Gibbs & Cox, Inc. She measures 990 feet in length. Stamped on back in rectangular box: "MORRIS ROSENFELD / PHOTOGRAPHIC ILLUSTRATOR / 116 NASSAU STREET, N.Y. / Phone BEekman 3-4970".
