Image taken as part of long term commissioned work and documentation for the American Telephone & Telegraph Company, ranging from 1910 through the 1940s. View of the lunch room at the Murray Hill telephone exchange branch, seen on January 30, 1917. Women seen dining at tables of four, cafeteria servers seen in background. Foods visible on the table include coffee, milk, cream, salt, pepper, pie, oranges, and other unidentified food items. Women have individual trays with food items on separate plates. Many of the women have on long dark skirts with white blouses, a few are wearing dark dresses with white collars. All of the women have long hair tied loosely back. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "5410 / 1/30/17 / Murray Hill Lunch Room / Tel Co / Box 430 / Plate Broken".
