Image taken as part of long term commissioned work and documentation for the American Telephone & Telegraph Company, ranging from 1910 through the 1940s. View of a male model posed using a telephone, to advertise: "Answer Your Telephone Promptly". This image was taken to advertise for the telephone company, on March 1, 1916. This copy negative was made on October 29, 1917 from an unidentified (retouched) original source. Handwritten on negative sleeve: "6283 / 10/29/17 / 506--10 / Tel. Co. / Box 506 / Copy of man telephoning (model used) / on March 1/16 / Inserts - Answer Your Telephone Promptly. / G.M 2648F Telephone Co's numbers-". Negative is masked with black paper and red opaque had been applied to emulsion side, creating an oval print.
