View of the bowsprit photographed from the bow of the vessel, showing two men sitting on the end of the bowsprit looking up at the sails. Notation at the bottom of the print in the backing area in ink says, "Sailmaker Wilson & assistant watching head sails on Independence / 158". Wilson & Griffin were the sailmakers for INDEPENDENCE in 1901.
