Tintype in thermo-plastic hinged case. Three quarter, waist length view of Grandmother Scholfield, with tinted cheeks. Brass cut-out mat surrounding image. Case lined with burgundy colored velvet. Makers label, printed on paper, laid into case under side w/photograph: "LITTLEFIELD, PARSONS & CO.,/ MANUFACTURERS OF/ DAGUERREOTYPE CASES". Inner mat reads "DEAN & EMERSON PATENT APPLIED FOR". Other "WORCESTER MASS. No 24". [Littlefield, Parson & Co. in NYC in 1859; in Northampton, MA 1860 as daguerreian case manufacturers. Dean & Emerson listed in Worcester, MA, in 1859, before which Emerson was listed in Providence, RI.]
