Engraving of American steamer MONUMENTAL CITY, wrecked on coast of Australia. Built 1850, Baltimore, MD; made 2 trips from San Francisco to Panama, one from San Francisco to San Juan del Sur. First steamship to cross the Pacific to Australia; wrecked there 5/15/1853. Removed from unidentified newspaper.
