Carte-de-visite of oil painting of White Star Line steamer CELTIC (single screw iron steamer, bu. 1872 by Harland & Wolff, Ltd., at Belfast, Ireland; sold and renamed AMERIKA. Scrapped in 1898) by Samuel Walters (British, 1811-1882). On reverse is "CABIN PLAN OF SCREW STEAM SHIP CELTIC" showing various cabin layouts. At top is: "ISMAY, IMRIE & Co./ 10. WATER STREET, LIVERPOOL./ 7. EAST INDIA AVENUE, LONDON, E.C./ NEW YORK, 19. BROADWAY./ CHICAGO, 96. SOUTH WATER STREET.", with house flag (red swallowtail pennant with white star). Ref: Eugene W.
