MAY. 28. 1903"; possibly preliminary sketch for Beal painting 1945.340; other side shows Stonington, CT, harbor, handwritten in pencil "Cruising/ with/ Giff & Ed Greacon/ left Noank. June 5th/ 1903/ turned into Stonington/ Stormbound".
