8x10 gelatin silver print made from 4x5 black and white internegative made originally from a 35 mm color negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons in 1983. Image of 63' Ben Lexcen designed, Steven Ward built 12 meter class sloop CHALLENGE 12 (built 1982 in Australia) and 65' Ian Howlett 12 meter class sloop VICTORY '83 (built 1982 in United Kingdom) at America's Cup trial race. Visible in image: cropped starboard bow view of VICTORY '83 (K-22) and CHALLENGE 12 (KA-10) running before the wind under marconi-rigged mainsails, genoas and spinnakers, VICTORY '83's bowman is hanging off the end of the spinnaker pole trying to release the spinnaker, another sail is in background.
