Carey Smith designed, Townsend and Downey built schooner yacht ELMINA (built 1901 in Shooters Island, NY). Visible in image: starboard bow view of ELMINA (D/3) running before the wind under gaff-rigged main and foresails and topsails, spinnaker and balloon jib, two crew members sit aft dangling their legs over the side, other schooners and land seen in background.
