Foul weather jacket made by Henri-Lloyd, England; size L; yellow outside, gray inside; 2 worn reflecting strips on front from shoulders (8-1/2" x 2" each); Velcro cuffs and neck strap; hood can fold into collar; 2 pockets each left and right; red plastic whistle attached to blue lanyard sewn into right pocket (molded in whistle "THE/ ACME CITY/ MADE IN / ENGLAND"; patch above pocket on left embroidered in black "COMMITMENTS/ '89 '90/ CIRCUMNAVIGATION" with illustration of sloop on map of western hemisphere; embroidered on right above pockets "HENRI [crown] LLOYD"; Henri-LLoyd name label inside neck with handwritten name "CAPTN PINKNEY"; Henri-Lloyd label on lower right pocket; label inside right chest "HENRI-LLOYD/ CROWN PROOFED/ BRI-NYLON/ MADE IN ENGLAND", with washing instructions; embossed on back "HENRI [crown] LLOYD". Worn by William Pinkney during his 1990-1992 solo sailing voyage around the world aboard his Valiant 47 sloop COMMITMENT, the first African American solo circumnavigation.
