She was built by Canteri Navale Orlando at Livorno, Italy and designed by Captain E. L. Davies. View of FLYING CLOUD, underpower,sails furled, port beam view. Handwritten in black ink on surface of image upper right, "552E" and in lower right margin area, "Trials - 17 - 4 - 27". Handwritten in verso in pencil across upper part of print, "Flying Cloud". Handwritten in ink in center, "256 O. A. / 203 B. P." Stamped in lower left, "Please return to / Tams & King, Inc. / 250 Park Avenue / New York City" and written in pencil, "T.K."
