4x5 Kodak negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons during the time of the New York Yacht Club Cruise of 1954 on the Vineyard Sound. Image of a racing scene (L-R): NINA, schooner #2, COTTON BLOSSOM IV, yawl, #168, the VINEYARD, lightship, and WINDIGO, yawl, #175. The three sailing vessels are rounding the lightship, starboard bow view. COTTON BLOSSOM IV was a 71'3" aux. yawl built in 1926 was a W. and R.B. Fife designed and built by Fife and Sons of Fairlie, Scotland. NINA was a 59 ft. auxiliary schooner, sail #2, designed by Burgess & Morgan, Ltd. in 1928. WINDIGO was a 71'6" aux. yawl, sail #175, and was designed by Sparkman and Stephens, design #112, and built by Quincy Adams Yacht Yard of Quincy, Mass. in 1937.
