HOPE was a 50' Q Class sloop, #3, built in 1929 by Hodgdon Brothers of East Boothbay, Maine from designs by John Gale Alden. She was built to the rules of the New York Yacht Club for Q Class vessels. Typed neg. sleeve info.: "5312-S". Stamped: BLOCK ISLAND - 1931". Handwritten: "Q1[sic] Hope / Box 256". Notation of a copy of a print sent to: "Yachting" (magazine).
