Trophy, silver plated goblet, decorative band around top and base; engraved on one side "Second Prize/ Four oared shell race/ won by/ H. G. Cushman Stroke/ Brooklyn Boat Club/ July 4th 1879"; on opposite is applied wreath (half missing) and oar; "MF'D & PLATED BY/ REED & BARTON." and "840".
