The ships are sihouetted against the horizon with calm seas and numerous clouds. Typed on the back: "BUAER 63936 10 May 1943 / United Nations Convoy" Stamped on back: "OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPH / NOT TO BE USED FOR PUBLICATION / BY ORDER OF / THE CHIEF OF THE BUREAU / OF AERONAUTICS / CONFIDENTIAL" From Henry Strauss transcript in Sound Archives: "Now this I got somewhere. Oh I got… it a BUAER photo. So that was nothing that we were involved in. This was a big convoy because that looks like a heavy cruiser or battleship. Yeah, and these are big transports. We never saw anything like that."
